Netflix’s Virgin River is expanding its cast once again.

Mitchell Slaggert has been cast in a major recurring role for the upcoming eighth season of the romantic drama, which recently started production in Vancouver.

Slaggert will play Eddie, an easygoing EMT whose arrival is expected to shake up life in Virgin River. The character is described as charismatic, curious, and eager to embrace new experiences despite initially never seeing himself in a small-town environment.

Because of his medical background, Eddie will likely interact closely with Mel Monroe and Doc Mullins, while also connecting with Kaia and Brady following the events of the Season 7 finale.

The series is also expected to continue its tradition of emotional romance storylines, making Eddie a likely addition to the town’s complicated relationship dynamics.

Slaggert previously appeared in Landman and The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Season 8 is currently filming and is expected to debut sometime next year.
