Mitchell Slaggert has joined the cast of Netflix’s beloved romantic drama in a major recurring role for Season 8, which is now officially filming in Vancouver.

The actor will portray Eddie, a charismatic EMT described as both adventurous and deeply caring. While Eddie never imagined living in a small town, Virgin River may end up becoming exactly where he belongs.

Fans are already speculating about how Eddie will fit into the town’s tangled relationships — especially with romance always playing a major role in the series.

His job could also connect him directly to Mel, Doc, Kaia, and Brady after the intense events of the Season 7 finale.

Slaggert is no stranger to romantic storylines, having previously appeared in The Sex Lives of College Girls and the holiday film A Carpenter Christmas Romance.
