NBC has officially decided to keep the main cast of the One Chicago universe together for the upcoming season. According to Deadline, Taylor Kinney and Miranda Rae Mayo from Chicago Fire, along with S. Epatha Merkerson and Oliver Platt from Chicago Med, have signed new contracts to continue with their respective series.

Meanwhile, Jason Beghe will also continue returning to Chicago P.D. under his current contract.

Taylor Kinney, Jason Beghe, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Oliver Platt have all been part of the franchise since the very beginning. Taylor Kinney is now entering his 15th season on Chicago Fire, Jason Beghe is heading into Season 14 of Chicago P.D., while Merkerson and Platt are preparing for Season 12 of Chicago Med.

Notably, S. Epatha Merkerson continues to hold the record as one of the longest-running actors in Dick Wolf’s television universe. Before joining Chicago Med, she starred in Law & Order for 17 seasons.

After more than a decade on air, One Chicago remains one of NBC’s biggest Wednesday night franchises. The crossover episodes between Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med continue to attract huge audiences, with the most recent crossover event delivering the highest ratings of the season for all three shows while also generating massive social media engagement.

Beyond traditional television, all three series continue to perform strongly on Peacock, frequently ranking among the platform’s most-watched shows — proving that the One Chicago universe remains as popular as ever.
