Showrunner Andrea Newman is departing and co-executive producer Victor Teran, who has been on staff since Season 10, will take over as showrunner for Season 15.
“Working at Chicago Fire, with the absolute best cast and crew in the business, has been the highlight of my career,” Newman said in a statement. “Like so many others, I was inspired to get into TV writing because of Dick [Wolf], so what a thrill it’s been to work with him and the amazing Wolf team of Peter Jankowski, Rebecca McGill and Anastasia Puglisi. I’m so grateful to them, [former showrunner] Derek Haas and the NBC and Universal execs who have been so supportive of the show all along the way. After 14 years, you really do become a family and working with this group will always feel like home.”

Dermot Mulroney as Chief Dom Pascal also exited midway through Season 14, but there is a possibility his character could return. Pascal’s job at the CFD was terminated for conduct unbecoming a firefighter. He intentionally disobeyed FBI orders in the One Chicago crossover event, and even though he rescued some important information that helped solve the case, they pressed charges. It was hinted at that he was going to apply for a job in Phoenix, Arizona, where he had a friend in the fire department there.

What happened at the end of Chicago Fire Season 14?
Cindy (Robyn Coffin) tells Herrmann that he needs to have more patience and gratitude and he realizes she’s right, so he drops on one knee and proposes to her that they renew their vows, which they do in a ceremony at Molly’s.
Kelly Severide doesn’t have a gut feeling as to whether to take the job at OFI or to stay at Firehouse 51. He is summoned to headquarters where Pascal is waiting for him. CFD has flown Pascal in to encourage Severide to stay at 51 – and by the way – his promotion to captain came through.
Mouch gets a call from Atomic Publishing and they want to meet with him. It’s not about his book Brothers in Arms, but the book he submitted years previously: Sheets on Fire, a steamy romance. When he tells Herrmann, Herrmann is not upset but says, do the romance and then self-publish Brothers in Arms and give me my cut of the money.
Isaiah (Hero Hunter) returns from Cleveland and at first he lies to Severide and Kidd about he got to Chicago, but then it turns out that his mother can no longer take care of him and he wants to live with Severide and Kidd, not his mother’s friend. They promise to talk to his mother about it but if she’s okay with it, so are they.
Chloe (Kristen Gutoskie) and Cruz end up at the hospital because she’s having difficulty with her pregnancy. They discover it’s because she’s having twins so there’s extra placenta.
Vasquez gets a call from the Deputy Chief of the Chicago P.D., who offers to let him finish training to be a cop if he wants to come back. And Novak tells Vasquez that if they hooked up, it would be more than fun on her part.
Then, just as Severide is about to reveal his decision to Pascal as to what job he takes, 51 is called out for a fire, which turns out to be problematic. Kidd and her team rush off the roof to the ladder, but they are engulfed in flames, and then the roof caves in on Severide and his crew in the building and they are trapped. The episode ends with: Mayday! Mayday! The only one who is safe is Pascal, who was outside directing the situation.
Are there any spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 15?
It isn’t confirmed, but it was hinted at by Rob Morgan, who played Battalion Chief Andre Hopkins, in an interview. He also told Severide on camera that he was going to be leaving Firehouse 51 and returning to his office at Firehouse 20, which may mean we won’t see him again. This leaves the door open for a new chief, the return of Pascal, or Severide could take over the job.
