Change is coming to Virgin River.

Netflix has officially begun filming Season 8 of the hit romantic drama, but the upcoming installment will feature several noticeable departures from the long-running series.

Most notably, Lauren Hammersley is reportedly exiting the show after Charmaine’s storyline came to an end in Season 7. The character had been one of the series’ most dramatic and controversial figures since the beginning.

Marco Grazzini and Sara Canning are also expected to leave, while other supporting characters may not return for the upcoming season.

Still, fans can expect many familiar faces to remain at the center of the story. Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson are both returning as Mel and Jack, whose lives changed dramatically after welcoming their adopted daughter.

Season 8 will reportedly feature a four-month time jump as the show explores life after the family’s emotional health crisis.

Meanwhile, Brady and Brie’s relationship will continue evolving after Brady’s shocking motorcycle accident in Season 7.

Netflix has yet to announce when viewers can expect the new season to arrive.
