After years of emotional ups and downs, Virgin River is finally giving Mel and Jack the honeymoon they deserve.

Season 8’s romantic episode “La Luna De Miel” takes the couple to beautiful Tulum, Mexico, where turquoise water, warm weather, and peaceful beaches replace the rainy forests of Virgin River.

Netflix recently shared exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the tropical shoot, featuring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson enjoying the dreamy coastal setting.

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith explained that the production team traveled to Mexico with a smaller crew after filming concluded in Vancouver.

The goal was simple: allow fans to see Mel and Jack in a new environment and enjoy their relationship away from everyday stress.

Breckenridge said she loved the idea of showing the couple simply enjoying each other’s company for once.

Between Jack’s bar, Mel’s medical work, their farm plans, and discussions about adoption, the pair rarely get uninterrupted moments together on the show.

The Mexico trip also became a bonding experience for cast and crew members, many of whom welcomed the warmer weather after months of filming in Canada.
