Major Virgin River Star Says Emotional Farewell Ahead of Season 8 md14

The residents of Virgin River are coming back for another season, though the small town may look a little different next time viewers visit.
Netflix has officially started production on Season 8 of the romantic drama, with filming kicking off in Vancouver this week. The new season is expected to continue shooting throughout the summer as fans eagerly await the next chapter for Mel and Jack.
But alongside the exciting production update comes bittersweet news: several cast members are leaving the series.
Lauren Hammersley, who played Charmaine since the show’s debut, will reportedly not return after her character’s storyline concluded in Season 7. Behind the scenes, actors Marco Grazzini and Sara Canning are also said to be exiting the drama.
Meanwhile, Martin Henderson is expanding his role on the show once again. In addition to starring as Jack Sheridan, the actor will direct another episode following his successful first time behind the camera.
Season 8 will feature a four-month time jump, allowing the story to move forward after the emotional medical struggles involving Mel and Jack’s adopted daughter.
Returning cast members include Alexandra Breckenridge, Ben Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Austin Nichols, and Codey Kearsley.
Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for the new season.
